I am planning ahead for my planting area for next year and need some advice. I will be using a rectangluar area between 70 to 100 aq ft of dirt, the rest of the plant will be over grass. How much manure(steer) should I put in my soil? I am thinking around half a yard or just under, is this enough for this smaller area? And is it better to add all of it in the fall or spread it out and add some in fall and some in spring? And lastly, gonna get my soil tested too, ok to put the manure on before testing or should it wait? Thanks for the help, Jim

i dont know about the half a yard thing it sounds kinda low i dont know but i would put it on now in the fall and wait till late winter (like feb)to get your soil tested that way you know what it will be like with manure but will still have plently of time to adjust your soil after the test

1/2 a yard will cover 100 sq ft approx 1 1/2 inches deep. (1.62 inch) depending on how your soil is now, I think you are pretty close.
is it already composted manure or fresh ? if fresh then you want to add it in the fall. if it is well composted either fall or early spring would be fine.
you could probably go for 1 yard if you wanted to.
