what is the best thing to use for powdery mildew? I don't have a big budget either. I have heard that a drop of soap, a little baking soda and some water work great. Anyone know about this? I have some sulfer powder too, but not sure if it will fry my plant in the heat. Just spotted a couple super small spots of mildew on two leaves so I want to make sure it is killed off quick. Any cheap suggestions is appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Daconil works great for PM Jim. That's as cheap as I can get!

Foliar feeding with seaweed / kelp emulsion works pretty good. You kill two birds with one stone as the plant gets fed while you remedy the mildew. It worked really well for me last year, and I haven't had any powdery mildew yet this year. I think I got this info from Alan Reynolds last year, either him, or Stan Pugh.

I too have had good results with Daconil. I may not be as rich as the gentleman from Ga. but my Daconil cost $20.49 per 16oz. Granted it requires only 2 tsp./gal. At this rate I will give the remaining to my grandchildren in 20 years. We have had temps. near 100 all week and evenings with humidity at 100% w/ temps. in the upper 70's and my PM is at least a stalemate. Good luck.
