Some asshole pulled my stem off my pumpkin tonight while my truck was parked behind my wifes place of employment...Ya know,,I may not be the greatest person in the world,,but I was always taught and always respect other people properity...Just pisses me off people cant keep their hands to their self..If I would have caught them,,I'd be in jail right now calling you Brian to bail me out... DAMN I'm MAD as hell!!

Jeff, Relax, you dont need the stem to keep the fruit. It would dry out anyway over te next week or 2. You may have lost a pound, but dont worry too much about it.

Hey Jeff: Sorry to hear of the misfortune but can't you still take it to get weighed. It may be an exhibition but you would still know the weight and get the personal satisfaction. Hang in there.

Hey Jeff I read here last yr about using white latex caulking to seal cracks. Would think you could fill it with caulking to stop weight loss and rot.Use a little orange paint to touch her up with and go to the weigh off just for the fun of it. By the way the caulking works great to fill plumers crack also. Good Luck Ken

Sorry to hear that Jeff. I know what it is like to have people grab the stems on your pumpkins. It is the first thing that everyone wants to toch when the fruit is on display. Even with "please do not touch" signs people touch, grap, carve their names into, ect. Grow a bigger one to make yourself feel better about this one:-) ! Tom Beachy

I'm so sorry! What a dissappointment! There's nothing worse than having some thoughtless little shit mess up something you've worked hard for. And the worst part is that they are probably totally unaware of how bad what they did is. You should know, though, that your diary and pictures of G have inspired me a great deal! (I'm new at this.) I hope, one of these years, to be able to grow one like yours. Thank you so much for sharing your garden with me (us all).

Tom, If you do find the scum who took the stem off your pumpkin I will gladly come south and help hold down him/her while you place the stolen pumpkin stem somewhere. :)
