I took a little bit of advice from everyone, and was able to move the pumpkin 1 and 1/2 inches easily backward after freeing up more main vine and some secondaries. I also took a gamble and gave the pumpkin a small counterclockwise turn freeing up the shoulder with now about 2 inches to spare.Hope it holds up, a real adrenalin rush. The pumpkin taped out at 258lbs all said and done. Thanks David

Sounds like a nice one David! Good luck with it. I have a couple of bad stem situations myself this year.

Careful, I broke one clean off today with a 1/2" move.

See David.....I said one has to be very careful. If you have never had a stem snap, believe me,it is the worst sound known to growers!!
