1}Approximately how long is take for a male flower to develop from sighting to bloom? Same question for the female, sighting to bloom? 2}My pumpkins get approx 8 hours of sun. Why would I shade a newly polinated pumpkin with only 8 hours sun? 3} If you do shade site said you are supposed to keep pumpkin dry and not to water under structure, how does the fruit get water? As you can tell, I am a beginner this year growing anything! I have learned so much from this site as well as from pumpkin book 2 but I still have loads of qustions and i hope you all don't mind them. Thanks for all your answers in advance. I am having a ball! I think it is called obsession?

1} Most of my flowers develop 10-14 days from sighting. 2} Shade the fruit so the sun doesn't harden the skin causing the fruit to have less plyable skin while it is still growing, which may lead to a split. 3} from the vine. Tom
