Once a pumpkin is set, do you cut the vine off after the pumpkin to send all the energy to the pumpkin. If so, how long to you let the vine grow before terminating the pumpkin.

you should only terminate your main if you have too. Scott Armstrong grew an 814 on a plant with a terminated main, and Joel Holland got a 1049 that way, but terminating the main would decrease the amount of roots, leaves, and might send a surge of energy to the developing fruit causing it to split. sometimes different plants need different pruning.you should do what you think is best for your plant.if the fruit is set way out on the main you could try and tip the vine at the fruit and you wont have to worry about stem stress, but most people let the vine grow 5 to 15 feet past the fruit then tip and bury, but geneva's doing something right.....
