ok just a question...once I start seeing fruit...say tennis ball size babies..it is my understanding that the fertilizer should have hi amounts of NITROGEN, If infact grass has alot which I believe it does can I mix water and grass and apply the new solution to the main stock of my pumpkin.....Im just curious?????????????

I use a 20-20-20 water soluable fert. for the first 4 weeks of pumpkin growth then switch to a high potassium for the rest of the pumpkins life of growing.

I started with 20-20-20 the first few weeks. Then I switched to 10-52-10 to promote flower buds and root growth. For a couple weeks I cut way back on nitrogen until I got fruit set. Now I'm goint with high potassium to aid in feeding the fruit (0-0-60).

Im using 20-20-20 all the way thru the cycle, bad idea? Plants and fruit look good, but on some plants it looks like it is taking awhile for the females to appear. Still plenty of time though.
