You Know better then that Jeff...Sometimes you can work your tail off and I just ain't gonna happen. A bug here, to cold there, to hot now, no rain then, and that's before you really do something stupid yourself! The work got to be done then some breaks\luck comes in Pappy's had a perfect season. Rained when he needed it. Bugs didn't chew it. Sun didn't bake it, cuke with moasic didn't bite it....Jeff didn't show up with a chainsaw to the vine....Just wait!!! we haven't heard from dobber in awhile...he's got something up his sleeve..I can't get a female to open...Think I'm slacking? Yikes!

Pappy really glad you having a really good year. Showed your picture of Fatback to a teacher at the school where i work . She was really excited about it. I have 2 plants growing there for her class. Your Pics. comments and great diary has really help me to learn more about growing the Ags!! Hope Fatback puts on a few more pounds for ya so you can get that state record... Greg

Easy Lobsta, who me? never! A little post about guys with chainsaw and the guy can't sleep....Rod Serling would have loved this scenario. Trio of GA. Growers, Personal bests on the line..State record in Jeopardy...Hmmm what would Rod do with that. Course it would be newspaper headlines not internet jabber but the world would be watching! One of them snaps but fatback eats em or strangles en with a tendril or just rolls over em and they crushed under the pumpkins weight. Course it fades out with only sneakers and an arm showing under the pumpkin so you really don't know who it is...then they pan to the bottle of beer and it's... (twangy guitar playing) do do doo do theme LOL Grow em big Guys..and sleep tight!

Time to dump the "sleeve" (for Chuck) and "publicly" wish Pappy well with Fatback - it looks like a friggin VW parked out there, I should know, I see it everyday from my desk! There's a few more lb's there... Plus Micheal's, uh, Destiny is kickin along too! Mine got their first attention in about 3 weeks today (all day, thanks for the help, and beers Brian!) I could kick myself for not taking before and after pics - there's as much or more outside the patch as in - slash & burn baby! Got a little busy with work and, well, you can guess the rest. I doubt I'll get to 604 (as of today - we'll measure Fatback again tomorrow! LOL) but its still pretty fun stuff. I'll be happy to ride Pappy's coattails, and help move the Hildebeast(s?)!
