Does the number of lobes affect the final shape of the pumpkin,is 4 lobes likely to be rounder than 5 or 6.

I would think genetics would be the factor of the shape, just my opinion. Steve

It has to do with genetics and pollination. A more completely pollinated lobe will be larger than another lobe that wasn't pollinated as well, this will cause an fruit to be uneven. Tom
