I am wondering, if you add leaves to the soil in the fall, or they that great, I mean do they have very much nutritional value????? Thanks, Steve

They add "fluff" to your soil so the roots can spread easier. I don't know about their nutrient value but I imagine they have a little.

Leaves are great for your Pumpkin Patch. They will rot down during the winter, than during the summer they help to hold water in the soil. They more or less are like compost. I put all the leaves i can on every fall

I collect truck loads of leaves every fall and mix in lots of fresh manure, pile them up and compost them untill spring spread them about 4 inches thick, and till them in with my cover crop of winter rye. Best soil in the county, and mass worms!
