On my plants where the main vines first started, I am noticing a couple of the leaves turning yellow, maybe one of two on each plant. I am growing Corkum and Hebb. Can anyone advise what I can do, or what I am doing wrong. I have been using 15-15-15 once to twice a week, watering two to three times a week. Lots of male flowers and one female flower on vine. Any advice, appreciated. Mare

Hey Mare, Doesn't sound like a real problem. If the new growth is good. On AG's not sure on corkum or hebb the older leaves especially the first true leave are known to die off. they yellow out and droop down will hang on but eventually brown and crinkle. Least thats what happened to me last year and I asked the same question this was the general response. Chuck

You will notice as time goes on that the leaves closest to the main start to die off or look real ratty. They should be trimmed away.

I asked Joel Holland about yellow spots on leaves last Friday. He felt that it was do to "over watering", because when he ceased to water the plant, the subsequent leaves were the normal green.

Hi Mare, I just got this link in an email showing pictures of leaf disorders and their possible remedys. They are not specific to pumpkins but to all cucurbits.
