I took two culls to a scale at my local feed store and they weighed out almost to the chart. One taped at 188#S and on the scale was 188# the other taped at 174#s and weighed 173#s. Fatback can't be weighed on a scale less than 700# capacity and the feedstore only goes to 500# any suggestions about where I might try will be appreciated. I have about a month to harvest. (I hope)

If you have a grain elevator nearby, take your truck over & weigh it. Then after you load the pumpkin go over the scales again. It won't be exact but it will be close......

It would have to be exact to be a certified state record. I hear that UPS or us mail that does frieght might have a legit scale. If you live in an agricultural area ther's usually scales at loading depots....check the yellow pages for scale companies...call one...see what they say...they might have one set up or know who locally would be willing to further the insanity.

Won't the local extensions agency coordinate for an accurate weight if it is thought to be a state record? If not, maybe they would have a connection for you. Tom Beachy
