My plant has tons of 5 segment fruit, but my main vine has only popped out 4 segment fruit after 10 ft. What are all of your opinions, which would be better, 4 four segment on the main or a five segment on a secondary? Thanks, Jim

I'd pollinate all of them and watch to see where the better growth occurs. Including stem position and length. Vine position and general shape of fruit. In other words look for a goodun'!!

I personally dont think segments play a significant role in the final weight of the fruit. Look at the data. If there was something to the idea, a trend would have developed by now. But of the thousands of fruit logged into the AGGC, there does not appear to be a winner. Go for the faster grower.
