i have a VERY small amount of space to grow my plants in and need to cull out one or two plants to leave growing room for one, yet i was wondering how (or if) it is possible to transplant a plant that is about 3 feet long. i tried somthing similar last year, and it didnt really work because i did it in 90 degree fierce sunlight. Any tips?

Hey Divyan, Leave it alone if ya can. I moved a couple of the weed plants that came up by themselves. They hate anybody messing with the roots takes a week for them to stand up again. AND these weren't 3 feet. Most of the leaves that were on died and the new growth is what gets going again. Almost better to start a new seed since the roots system will do better in the long run. Three feet in this weather is no problem with the AG. Chuck

If you pull it out of the ground it hasn't a prayer! The leaf area is so large that the root system is now very extensive to support the plant.

Divyan, you could try the clone methode. Mound soil over everything, give it tons of PK for a couple of weeks then cut it from the main after soaking the crap out of it under cool temps. Then try to replant. I think there is an article on cloning by Madman. It will set you WAY back this late in the game though... Best of luck

man, i just love disturbing the piece--of dirt that plant is growing in---as an experiment--perhaps a cubic yard of soil weighs pretty good--but imagine, though, if you could dig a 3-foot-deep trench around this plant of yours and shove a giant spatula right under the entire root system and all and just lift it out and serve it up right to the place where you wanna have it grow permanent-like??? Haah? sorta like when they uproot trees for landscaping with that 3-spaded thing that takes forever but gets it done...just an idea...but not one i'd like to hafta use on my own....plant, that is...!
