Can someone tell me what the result will be if I pollinate some of my Aspen pumpkins with males from my AGs?

Could produce any combination, I guess you can only wait to see the result. I thought of crossing AG with Prizewinner, to get the nice rich orange colour, but still obtain a good size.

My understanding is that you can only cross pollinate within the same species and that the use of a high grade male will not effect this years pumpkin only the next generation of seeds. That if the pollenation of the female is complete the pumpkin will be what it will be not because of the male but because of the genetics the female carried from the year before. Her seeds this year will carry the male genetics from pollenation this year. Do I have this right guys? or no.

They might not be able to cross. AGs are maximas. and they can't pollinate a C. pepo, or typical feild pumpkin, or other Cucerbits other than other maximas or visa versa. I don't know what type of pumpkin an Aspen is?
