I could not start my pumpkins early so i wanted to start some now and get some small ones for halloween, I was wondering what is the fastest way to get seeds growing and how do you do it. Thanks -Ryan

It's pretty warm these days. If you directly plant them in the ground and keep them moist, they should pop up pretty quickly. Maybe within a week.

Remember, you are about two months behind! I would not expect a 800 pounder by October 5th!

Bocky - check the 'How to' section. Use the advanced seed starting method by Joe Ailts. The pictures help out a lot - You know what to expect the seed to look like. I think the toughest part about germination is for the seed to get out of it's protective coat. Every single seed that I started this way sprouted. The only other thing that I would add is to us a file around all the edges of the seed coat. Good luck

thanks, I did that and have them in a bag on a heating pad and letting them sit overnight. I know I won't get a big one but thats ok. As long as I get soem pumpkins. Thanks for all the help.
