Pkin Brat,,,I'm only a second year grower,,,and I thought,,wow,,no bugs yet!!!Now I am paying the ultimate price!! My no bug therory has gone down the drain...Main plant has mosiac,,and my second plant had to be pulled up....I learned the hard way,,always some kind of bugs.....So PLEASE,,,GO,,Go now,,spray,,spray,spray...Even though you think no bugs,,,,believe me,,there are bugs,,maybe you just are not seeing them...Spray before the bugs get there...Prevention......I think the heavy hitters will agree with me......

No bugs here in Alberta, 'cept maybe the odd grasshopper. I use companion plantings of catnip mint, nasturiums, calendula, wormwood, garlic, rosemary....all of these herbs are pest deterrents. Never have had to spray for anything. Catnip mint make a great mulch and compost ingredient too.

Squash bugs are here have sprayed twice. I think I saw one drinking the seven. Going to hit them again for some reason it dont seem to be working one them this yr. I Think next yr Ill try Daves trick with the Catnip. Just have to keep more rocks around to throw at the stoned cats rolling around in my patch. Ken

Fourth year growing AG's and have yet to have a bug problem. I don't know if its the climate or what, but this part of Idaho seems to not have the pests that plague much of the country.

Lots of bugs here, as last year i didnt have too many. The cuke beetles come and i spray, about a week to two weeks later they are back....i have them controlled well with spectracide's Triazicide......this stuff also has the same ingredient that Warrior T does that controls borers, but way way less amount of it (% wise) so not sure how well it would be on borers if that shows up. I also have sevin and bug b gon if i feel the need to incorporate something different...all three take care of cuke beeltes and squash bugs and many other pests.

Bugs where doing fine until last night. Sprayed the patch and now have thousands of dead cuke bugs to fertilize the AG's. Been squishing a few stink bugs too. Didn't have much of a problem a week ago. Might be that a grower just down the road has a few acres of pumpkins and gourds that they grow to sell to the public. Hope they been spraying.

Just move out to san diego, no bugs ever, all we need to watch out for is powdery mildew.

Got something still there had whiteflys bad but they are pretty much under control. Something is putting holes in the leaves just don't know what. Gonna switch my routine. Have a bunch of weed pumpkins growing that get nothing done to them and they look great Curly gets everything and I keep burning the leaves with the daconil sevin mix and the bugs or whatever is still putting holes in them.

Was burying vines today & found 3 DEAD SVB's. I tied thread to their tiny legs & hung them in the patch as a reminder to others who dare to cross over to the dark side.....Paul

Hay Brian, no bugs over here either(except aphids) in Spokane Washington area, thank God! I have had problems with the dang sparrows getting in the patch they seem to go insane and trash the leaves. I devised a solution to the problem, I put mouse traps in the gullets of a several leaves and caught a few of the buggers. I then paraded there carcuses in front of the patch for a few days and guess what, no more sparrow damage :)

Ouch Stanly! I love birds I have bird houses all over my place I just love my punkins more. The birds with any brains stay away from my foil spinners and scarecrows. The sparrows only seem to understand one thing.... Just business. I hope I didn't offend anyone, but imagine going out to your prize baby pumpkin one morning and finding it pecked full of holes like I did two years ago.

I didn't see any bugs lastnight, I use sevin dust and dusted like heck just to be safe, went out this morning and it was a dead bug smorgasboard. Bugz, all types sizes all over the ground everywhere YES! Now if I can just get past that borer bug. They desimated my entire (would be) crop last year. Had one small plant with a main vine go limp yesterday, pulled the whole damn thing and chucked it into the neighbors garden. good ridance
