Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but I need to ask it anyway. I spray my plants with Sevin on a "need to" basis. The question is this. I use the concentrated version, not a problem. I mix it up to the proper proportions per the label, still not a problem. I walk down to the patch with my sprayer in hand, still no problem. I begin to spray the plants. Now the problem. How do you know when enough Sevin has been applied to the plant? The directions say to mix so much concentrate per gallon of water, but it does not say how much to apply to the plant. Should I see White all over the plants when there dry? Is there any other visual clue I can use to say "ok they got enough"? Seems like all is explained except for the most simple part. :) Thanks John (5150)

As long as you cover the tops and bottoms of leaves and also the leaf stalks and vines with a fine mist you should be ok.

Yes - you should see white coating (probably spotty looking) over the leaves, but remember to spray the underside of the leaves as well. - look at the directions - if it has rate per 1000 sq ft then you need to estimate the sq ft of "leaf" area. - If no info - I have been applying a gallon of mix to 500 sqft of leaf area. - remember to not just spray the leaves but also the vines that are exposed (especially the crotches where the leaf stems connect to the vine). - go light on the new emerging leaf/vine ends as they seem to burn easily before they are a week old. - don't spray with strong direct sun -seems to stress - best to spray in the evening as you won't kill bees - as long as you are going to spray might as well mix in your seaweed foliar and spray it with the Sevin.

Thanks all!
JohnNancy, I actually have been mixing in the seaweed solution along with the Sevin. The regular old house fly's love it! Try to kill one bug and another emerges. :)
