I´m in trouble with my Deary plant. It´s growing "umbrella-style" from the beginning. Anything is just growing up. Now a secondary "explode" and broke down like being hit by a dog or something but it wasn´t. The main vine also has strange splits near the new tendrils - not really splits, but like small "exlosions". Hard to explain, will post pictures on monday. In brief - the plant looks like having so much power and the vines can´t stand it.

floe, its kinda funny that both of the Deary 466's that I am growing showed the same exact simularities that your 466 is doing. Both wanted to grow straight up and I had a heck of a time getting them to come down. One 466 was actually 3-1/2 ft tall. Now both 466's are doing great! The main vines are about 10 ft long with a vine diameter of 1-1/4 inches. The vines also have been splitting for no reason, no stress on the vine....splits are healing fine though. Color of the leaves and vine are good. Leaves are in the 20 to 24 inch range. Just hope it grows a decent AG. 'stein

I've been having similar problems with my 326.5.It went straight up and unfortunately I snapped the main when trying to bring it back down to earth,I wanted to grow a back main anyway so I decided to train 2 secondaries in opposite directions I also removed the other 2 or 3 secondaries(big mistake)the growing tips on the two I kept got blasted clean off the plant!Sorry Kilr.
I was trying to train this plant in a westerly direction.
