The other day when I was doing "preventative maintenance" around my AG's, I was loosening up the dirt about 3 foot from the primary vine when I cut into the roots of the vine. How far out does the root zone extend? The AG's I am currently growing are; Cox 1048 x 2, Deary 466 x 2, Cox 1048 x Bobier 1025 x 2 and a Handy 1167. Thanks, 'stein

I've seen them at 8-10 feet from the trunk.

I figure the roots cover at least as much space below the soil as the vines do above it and then add an extra foot. If you need to cultivate at all around the vines stay very shallow to protect the roots.
