Should I burn all my prunings or can I compost healthy vines?

I throw mine directly onto the compost pile....split pumpkins, too!

I throw everything into the compost pile located between my two plants. Last fall when I harvested I dug into the compost pile and there were pumpkin plant roots throughout the heap! I noted in my video that the plants were tallest/greenest around the compost pile.

I compost all of my grass clipping, leaves, fallen branches, weeds, pumpkins, and healthy vines. I don't compost diseased vines because that could spread the disease to the next season's pumpkins. I also don't copost any vines that had borers because the could be hiding in the vine if they haven't completed their larvel stage. Tom

Be careful that the pile is not too close to your patch. Insects will still live and breed in the prunings! I used to do this and found TONS of squash bugs and their eggs all over the leaves and vines in the prunings pile. Now I discard all vines that I prune off.
