Well I know a lot of us are growing G's 455 & it's good to be able to compare growth. Well there are 2 others I have growing that have survived the freezes, hail storms & HEAVY rain. They are the Welty 744 & my 353, now I doubt anyone is growing the 353 but if anyone is growing the 744 I would like to know how it's doing for you. My 744 is growing VERY,VERY well. If anyone has one let me know.........Paul

My 744 looks strong, even though it was transplanted once from its previous spot. Nice trunk and 3' vine. I just finished grafting a pollinated Big Zac flower to the main vine. How do you like me now Huff?

my 744 is doing well. Nice thick green vine on it. The leaves are nto huge but not small. The main vine grew straight up like a tree for a while and i had a interesting time bringing it down, but it is down now with a 4 foot main at the moment. there is already a female on my 744* at about 3 1/2 feet out. way to close but i want to get it bigger to see if it will for sure throw squash...it is a light green color with darker green stripes on it. The 744 should go 100% green and i expect it to also but those green stripes are throwing me for a loop.

My 1230 Daletas is doing great it's about 7 feet long now. My Gadberry 644 went flat vine and tried to split into two main vines I pinched one of the mains out and the dang thing split the main. I will try to coax a new primary from the stump but it's looking lame for a giant from it this season. Last year the 644 threw dark green females with green stripes but the pumpkin turned bright orange. The vines were, and are this year solid dark green.

Yo Paul, I grew the 744 last year...kept aborting the fruit and I ended up with a couple of halloween lanterns from it.On the other hand the 455.4 this year is now over 7' long

My 744 is an average plant. Nice and healthy, average trunk, and average leaves. It looks good considering the poor start here in Northern Indiana. Tom Beachy
