3 plants in the second patch looked absolutely perfect on Thursday night. Everything was progressing nicely and they all looked well established. So I gave the 3 backups to a fellow worker to plant with his daughter. I come home Friday afternoon and all 3 plants are seriously wilted. I watered them generously with a light 10-30-10 solution but they looked the same on Saturday morning, very wilted. As a last ditch effort I cloaked them to try and keep more heat in the soil. Went out this morning (Sunday) and nothing has changed, still very wilted. They look green enough, they don't look dead, just severly wilted..Any ideas? I have other backups, don't want to waste too much time if these wilters are done for.

Stunner, Have you had cuke beetles. If so you may have picked up a virus. It could also be a fungus. I would try a systemic fungicide immediately. If it's a virus, not much you can do. Hope it's something you can fight!

Stunner have you put on sevin or the like lately. My plants reacted the same way. First time out with a pressure sprayer always used a hose end before and the plant didn't like it. crinkled the leaves. also applied mid day I was told in the morning or night but the white flys were all over and it wasn't that hot...follow directions chuck!!! Hope all is well and they recover soon. My new growth looks good now.

no sevin and no cuke bugs, thats why I'm at such a loss as to what the problem is...it just happened overnight.

Try a systemic fungicide. One that is recommended for pumpkins. I had that same problem a few years back and after applying a sys. fung. it cleared up in a couple of days. Kenny B
