I,ve read and heard that Sevin should be sprayed to controll vine borer.I know that Sevin must be ingested by the insect to kill it.Why spray the leaves and stems to control the borer?

Sevin wont do squat for the vine borer...unless maybe if she drinks it or swims in it.........

from what I understand you cannot kill the adult vine borer by using insecticides because it needs to be eaten and the adult vine borer does not eat after it hatches. it just lays eggs and then you have those #!)(*&!%$# little vine borer worms that ruin your plant until you hate every insect there is!!!!!!but I may be mistaken
