ok i got a few questions about giant squashes.
1. do they vine or bush? 2. is the care about the same as for Giant Squashes as of AGs? 3. are the a actual squash or a type of pumpkin? 4. are they easy to grow?

Giant squash vine and they require the same care as AG's. They also are fairly easy to grow and I think they are actual squash but I am not possitive. I hope this helps.

Giant squash grow on bushes and get to be 990lbs...some bushes with 2-3-4 fruits on them...quite a site to see.... the bushes get as big as apple trees and sometimes you need to post the branches up with 4x4 timbers so the fruit dont rot on the ground. Most giant squash ive heard about grow with no care, usually relegated to the outer boundaries of you grandma's side garden, who lives 30 miles away, along the driveway or at your friends gas station mini-patch.No patch prep is needed--that effort usually saved for the pumpkins and they survive on very little water(cause the pumpkins get that),and no insecticides (cause they usually get used up on the pkns). They come in a variety of colors, (as yet to be determined by the "pumpkin people") but there seems to be a complicated sliding scale of determination that takes into consideration the grower's rank, size of fruit, and how big the closest pumpkin is. They look great carved, and as jackolanterns at night they are indistiguishable from Pumpkins. The seeds must taste better cause everyone eats them yet saves the 150lber's pumpkin seeds. They usually weigh heavy to the charts and its great fun pissing off pumpkin growers that way.......G

Hey Glenn, I planted mine next to a big oak tree. I hope it grows up the trunk and into the branches. My yard looked funny last year with about 6- 10ft 4X4 holding my squash bush up. It gets to be real expensive. I had a hard time getting my hoop houses that high off the ground. Kenny

Last year i tried allot of thing but the best one was growing my squash bush in a hanging basket that had a big hole in the bottom . I let the bush grow for 6 weeks with the basket upside down and when it started to flower i turned the basket right side up ,so the bush was hanging out of the bottom of the basket . When the squash got to the size of a football , i lowered the basket down so the squash would sit in a lawn chair. You can get about 4 lawn chairs to fit ,with out stressing the branches or deforming the squash. The lawn chairs are "key" .It worked great.

You guys have to let me in on the trick for pollinating your squash bushes. Plus getting them out of the tree at the end of the year. I heard of a guy out east using a trampoline.
