What is the average amount of true leaves on a plant when it really starts to vine and take off? Thanks for the help

I didn't count but I would say 15 or so before the vine starts to run.

Jim, My 968's about 3.5' long with 8 leaves, the first 3 true leaves died because the sun was to intense for the grow light raised leaves. Tom
