I did a quicky home soil test. It came back with low nitrogen and potasium, and high level of phosphorus. I have since added 20-0-20 granular fertilizer to the soil. I have not been able to find any liquid fertilizer with a low phosphorus level. Does anyone know of any on the market? Will a high phosphorus level cause me problems?

Those "home" tests are about as worthless as tits on a bull!
How high is "high"? I certainly would not base my fertilizer regimen on a home soil test.

"Phosphorous will promote both root growth and fruit set and development. Phosphorous is more forgiving as it does not burn your plants and is less water soluble so an over-application will not do major harm to your plant."

Most of the soils in the southern half of Minnesota is blessed with high levels phosphorus. It is just in the soil make up. Even though most the soil is high to very high in P farmers will still "band" in a little starter P when they plant to help the plant get off to a good start. The high P levels of the soils is one reason there is a ban on P in lawn fertilzer in the Twin Cities area, you just don't need any more P in established lawns (new lawns will still need a little). The only thing to much P really hurts is fresh water lakes. 1 pound of P in fresh water lakes equals 500 pounds of growth of blue-green algae.

Too much P in the pool is also a bad thing...
