A quick question from a novice. I arrived home last evening with great anticipation on viewing my AG's. Once I got down into the patch I noticed that two out of the three plants I planted where all wilted and dead. Upon closer inspection I noticed that wall of the vine was extremly thin on one side of it. It was so thin you could see right through. The other side of the vine seemed thick and green. It's been pretty cold in New England the last few nights, might this have something to do with it? Hopefully my last plant makes it! If not I'll wait till next year. Aint got no more seeds.
Thanks 5150 (John)

Sounds like frostbite to me! Got to protect those plants from anything lower than 40 degrees.

i agree "frost damage" there is noway pumpkins can survive unprotected over the past nights, it's been around or below freezing for the past couple of nights not to mention the snow that fell on saturday, my plants have been outside for 3+ weeks but they are well protected in heated cold frames.
