I'm looking for a thermometer that is waterproof that I can put in the garden and leave it there for the season. I don't want to worry about it getting wet or even dirty. It should be able to keep track of maximum and minimum tempuratures. Does anyone have or know of such a thing?

Just go to a farm supply/hardware store that supplies dairies or small/hobby goat dairies. The thermometers they sell for pasturizing milk are accurate and sealed in what looks like a test tube. I use one for air temp, soil temp and water temp(they float). Probably $10

Sorry - didn't read your criteria for recording max/min - this doesn't do that.
