I have a light on my plants about 6-10 hours a day and today i noticed that 2 out of my three plants are getting yellow/brown around the edge of the leaves. Is the light to hot? to close? on to long?

Same thing here, bocky....leaf curl on the edges! My lights are six inches or more away from the leaves. I am using "Daylight" flourescent bulbs. I thought about changing to the purple "grow lights". or reducing the time that the lights are on....19 hours.

if it's of any help, my fluorescents last year were on for 24hrs.,about a foot above the plants, one was a grow light (plant and aquarium) GE i think, and the other was a full-spectrum, which simulates natural sunlight--both available from the garden store for about 6-7 dollars each, two fixtures with one of each of these bulbs in each, for a nice mix of light....
ask around about too much water and what kind of starter mix are you using? scott's potting soil FOR SEED STARTING
works for me! good luck, you guys!

and i think that once you plant them outside for real, mother nature takes over with the daily cycle of
light/dark, and that's part of how the plants 'know' when to blossom and set fruit, and she knows best....

i also use florecent bulbs on me young seedlings about 3"above the plants 14hrs a day with no problems i also don't fertilize them until they get set out in the patch 7-10 days after germination depending on weather
