What else can you do in a city with 20 different breweries to provide your local area...I was infact thinking about svbrich when I did the "beer entry" - not only pumpkins need some good fertilizer..However, this glass of "Koelsch" and our cathedral are Cologne´s landmarks - maybe a pumpkin later this year, we´ll do our best. Good luck to all!

Yo Blackcloud, The world record for a cabbage is 124lb.grown here in England.I know cos I helped to carry it. The leaves were about 8' across from one side to the other. I'll hunt around this year and see if I can get any seed...but most of the growers tend to keep them for themselves..not like us pumpkin growers.

i guess that why it took so many men to handle it, the ones i saw looked like a wrecking ball with a bunch of feed sacks for leaves..

T&T seeds here in Winnipeg offer a giant cabbage seed known as OS Cross. I grew them a couple of times and produced a 40lb cabbage which was about 3 feet in diameter, but I had very little experience and put no real effort into them. I stop growing cabbages because they are so cheap to buy and I got tired of fighting off cabbage worms.

you have to wrap alum. foil around the edge of the leaves.. it wont kill them but it sure dulls their teeth!!
