I'm about to set my seedlings out in the patch this Sunday as the first true leaf is starting.....I forget....will the vine run opposite the first true leaf....?

In the last Holland video (2001), Joel says that the vine will generaly run in the direction of the first true leaf. That has also been my experience.

i try and plant so that my vines run twords the morning sun my prevailing wind also blows almost the same direction so i figure the least damage from wind will happen if i let them grow that way last year 2 plants 1 grew opposite 1st true leaf other grew same direction you can always train them to go where you want them to

I tilt the peat pot slightly in the direction I want it to go and bury it deep. Mine went away from the first leaf the last 2 years.
