I was just wondering what everyone was planning to plant this year. I have room for 3 plants and I think I have narrowed it down to 5. Still some thinking to do.
I like these:
1230 Daletas 01 1020 Papez 01 995.8 Carter 01 968 Stellpflug 01 868 Nesbitt 01
I still have some thinking to do. Any comments?

Dave, Of those 3 the 868, 1020, and 1230 would be great choices. This year I'm planting: 611 Hester 99 455 Andrews 00 968 Sproule 98 1064 Needham 00. The 968 has been started and has 3 true leaves, it will go in the ground this week. The 611 I will start in late April, and the 1064 and 455 in early May. Tom

Tom, How early is your weigh-off? If the plants that you are growing grows for 120-150 days then the latest you would have a fruit would be at the end of Aug. first of Sept. Just wondering....Tom (Bantam)

Tom, My weigh-off is Oct. 5th, I will harvest the pumpkins/squash on Oct. 4th (I hope). If I start my 611 in the last week of April and it takes a week to germinate that's early May. I I start the 1064 and 455 in early May and it takes a week to germinate that's getting closer to mid May. I started the 968 in late March as an experiment. Tom

Dilemma..Have a limited space and will use a modified flag for growing...will start two plants one for males at pollination time. here's what I have.
747.6 berard 2000 732 iezzi 1999 786.8 Mongenon 2001 625 desrosier 2001 620 Kuhn 2000 600 Desrosier 2000 636 Saylor 2001 (son of above) 644 Gadberry 2001 608 Gadberry (1026 holland x 1026 holland) Gads said this was an aggressive plant) 561 Stellpflug 2001 756.5 Trautwein 2001 605 Kuhn 1998
My wife thinks I'm nuts but I've spent every minute in the garden that I can. After last years disaster I am determined to learn how to do this right. Last year just planted seeds and they took over the whole garden. Had to rip them out they were so overgrown. Anyway I only have one shot and maybe I'm reading to much but they say if that's all you have is one shot go with a proven seed...That leaves out all the 2001 seeds.....but it looks to me like the best genetics are in that pool..any suggestions would be great..don't have the 1000 square ft but if I get 1 lb. a square foot I'll be happy knowing I got the soil right. so color and shape is the best I can hope for. thanks Chuck

First team, 940 Mombert 98, 723 Bobier 99, 764 Mombert 00, Second team, backup plants, 705 Mettler 00, 996.5 Emmons 00, 558 Vanderschoot 00, 576 Michalec 00, 551 Michalec 02, 526 Michalec 01. I'll be double planting and culling the weaker ones by the end of May. Probably have a few extra's to give away but don't want to be stuck starting late because something didn't germinate or take off when it hit the cloche.
