Everyone, i am looking for some info...
I live in western KY it gets extremely hot.. 90-100 degrees and sometimes 100+, we have a really high average humidity. My plants begin wilting at about 15-30 minutes after sunrise, and continue until about dusk. I plan on setting me up a misting system this year and was wondering if any of yall who had conditions that were very simular to mine had a misting system set up that worked well. if u do i would like to know more about it... especially about the timer and the times that u mist.
thank yall so very much

Sounds like our climates are very similar. Last year I set up a misting system almost exactly like the one found in the How To section of this site. It seemed to keep the plant perky. The timer will end up costing you about half of the total cost. Mine has either 6 or 8 start times a day (i will have to read the manual again to set it up). The more start times you get the better.
If your plants are wilting that early I would say that there may be another problem. Last year, one of my two plants wilted severly while the other one rarely wilted. When I finally pulled up the wilting plant I found that its roots had barely gotten out of the 4" peat pot it was started in. By this time the main was about 12 feet long and I don't know how so few roots supported that size plant.
This year I'm going to try something a little different. I'm using smaller size sprinklers to waters at 6 or 8 intervals during the hottest part of the day for short durations. I also will be using an injector system to spread my fertilizer, fungicide, pesticide at the same time. Try to do that with mister heads and you will end up clogging something up.
