Due to my extensive (job related) lack of time in the last months I thought it would be a good idea to have a personal "pumpkin countdown" - it will make the days countable to be "just-in-time". And 38 days is not a long time to go at all. So April 21st will be my "P-Day" - filing, soaking, preparing for germination to (hopefully) get them into the soil on May 1st or 5th. I personally like such deadlines because they force me to do and finally (looking at my patch right now....) I´m not running out of time. Of course my "P-Day" decision belongs to the weather experience over here - last frost possible in mid April, May can be in the upper 70ties sometimes. So is anyone else going to have a "P-Day" countdown? Ingo

Luckily, I live in san diego where it's very mild. I started my seed today on the 14 in a peat pot. I transplant to the garden on april 1st. Right now our warm days are in the 80's and a very cold day is 63 degrees with averges about 75. All you cold weathered growers have to suffer a little longer unfortunately. good luck!
