*** I posted this under Seeds and should have posted here... sorry for posting twice.
I have a question for all you experts out there. Does size matter (with pumpkin seeds)? I purchased some seeds this week via mail order (PandP Seed). Some of them are very small and seemingly uncharisteristic for Giant pumpkin seeds.
One specific example: AG3x1000 + Bobier 1025 (white seed) Saller than my Thumbnail - Approx 7/8" x 1/2"
'Looks real puny (and flat @ 1/8"). I am wondering if maybe I got the wrong seed. Or perhaps the size of the seed has nothing to do with its' potential?
I do not want to waste time if I got a genetically inferior seeds. I will just write off my $10 per seed as another bad investment (one of the cheapest bad investments I have made over the past couple years).
Any comments will be appreciated. Brent W.

Brent, Seed size doesn't atter at all. The 705 Stelts, one of the best in the world, is a tiny white seed. Tom

Brent, The problem I had with the P&P seeds I purchased in 99 was that it didn't say what their female parent weighed. I am refering to the Waterman 1 ton cross of the Zehr 1061 & the Greer 1006.Not only that It wasn't stated as to was the Zehr the female, or was the Greer the female? I also paid way to much for those seeds, and will never do it again. That is unaceptable record keeping for a serious grower and cost me a season. There are so many awesome seeds out there for the asking, I encourage you and anyone else to seek them out. Best of luck, live and learn.
PS the Waterman pumpkin I grew split at 20 days....

The Handy 810 is the smallest Tan seed I have had. It has produces a fruit over 1000 pounds. You do so much work caring for a pumpkin plant that I would NOT risk planting a P&P seed.
