Anyone know where i can get some desiccant packets? i originally bought some about 2.5 years ago, but it appears that the company has gone out of business. i'm out of them now, and i'm in dire need!

Yo Scotty!
Last winter I worked in a steel mill installing new anneal furnaces from Austria.(The contract required a large portion of prefabbed equipment to be shipped that was assembled in Austria). They had several 5# bags of dessicant in each of probably 100 crates. It was all thrown away! I suggest you check with someone who ships/receives material such as this for free "bulk' dessicant! kilr

I work with a lot of micro-electronic / fiber optic equipment, and almost every box with a PC, or electronic device has a packet of silicon dessicant in it. I put a few packs in my seed envelopes before puting them in the freezer. Any tv, vcr, or computer store should have a ton of them laying around. If you want to make sure the dessicant is not saturated (water logged) put it in the oven at 275 degrees for 8 to 10 hours.

Check out a computer store, they always have dessicant packs in the esd mylar packaging that end up in the garbage. Where I work at 3M we throw them away all the time from our packaging. If you have no luck finding any closer to you let me know. Shannon

i found a place that sells them BUUUUUUUUT, the smallest size they have is 1200 units......for 90 bucks. now i could buy them, but 1200 packages is alot of desiccant! anyone want to go in on it with me? i'll split it dead even. if 2 other people want in, it'll be 30 bucks a piece, and you'll get 400 paks. they are the 1/6 unit size. the last time i bought them i paid 35 bucks for 100. if anyone would like to get in on this with me let me know, OR if you can get a 1/6 unit size cheaper somewhere let me know. thanks scott
