Just wondering what some of everybody's realistic goals are for the upcoming season. I'll start it off, I'm hoping to get a 500 lber off my Hungarian seeds, a 650 lber off my AG seeds & a 5lb tomatoe. While making these goals won't satisfy me, they will do for now........

Paul, I just hope I can take a pumpkin and a squash to a weigh-off here in the southeast. 300 or 400 lbs would be great!

My goal is to Do the best I can. Meet growers from all over the world that share in our great hobby. Help as many newer grower reach there goal of growing a big one. I have learned over the past two years that there are many things that can go wrong during the season. So if your big one splits or the bugs attack your plant or the weather is not that good as you hoped . Remember what has really kept you in this sport of ours after you have learned the basics . It is all the great people that grow these monsters. My goal weight wise 1100lbs orange 1000lbs. green but if it dosen't happen I won't be that upset because I plan to have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grow them big Mark !!!!!

I reached 280 ott which is about 450 lbs last year before it split on the blossom end on August 20th. (Had until oct 6 to grow) My goal is to get a pumpkin through to weigh off without splitting. I think if I can do that I will get at least 750lbs. Last year was my first year growing.

Actually, I would love to Get a pumpkin 1lb heavyer than Brian-C's Kull that he brings to the Idaho state fair, then again it would be better to have the largest Pumpkin at the fair, but as I think about it I would like to have the largest pumpkin at Thanksgiveing Point Utah in October, But if you are going to go that far how about a world record. OH wait!!! You did say realisticly? Ok, a 400lber would just tickle the hec outuh Me. <;-) H-K-J

I have a vision of taking a 500 pounder to the big dance in Nekoosa this fall. This would be quite a step up for me, but with the tips I've learned from the great people on Big Pumpkins.com I feel it is possible. A small side goal, reasure my wife I'm still sane.

I doubled my personal best last season with a very orange 644, so 1288 would be GREAT, a 10 lb Onion and a 5 lb tomatoe, I will have to see what happens with the Sunflowers, corn and cabbage!

I would like a personal best of 500lbs or more. I also want the CT state record, it is only 776.
The competition in Connecticut will be fierce in 2002.

Harold, if your pumpkin is 1 pound bigger then my cull then it will be the biggest at the fair because no one else is going to beat me! I know you can do better then 400 but the fair is just too early for a truly great one.

I've always wondered what one did in order to be called a "fierce competitor"? Is anything fair in "love" and growing Atlantic Giants?

This will be my first year growing the Giants from quality seed. I just want to have fun at it and just maybe something between 300 to 400 would be nice. From every one ive met here I believe i can do that. I ve had alot of good advice and some really good seed sent my way. If i can keep the bugs away and the gophers out of my patches, they are popping up like weeds right now. I believe I will do it..Greg

Planning to clear the 800 lb mark this year, but hoping to make it to the 1000 lb class. Going back to a seed I used last year and give it more attention than I did in 2001.

A new personal best would make my happy (over 515lbs) but I'm shooting for 750lbs. I would also like to have a couple of big ones so I son't have to worry about loosing my one big one - like every other year. With 5 plants, 4500 sq feet, relatively free water supply, and all the free manure I want, I think this just might be the year.

Pumpkin growth hormone......That's funny. And it reminds me of the most asked question EVERYONE ask me. DO YOU GIVE YOUR PUMPKINS STEROIDS ? I always tell them NO, I'm saving the good stuff for my sons. That ALWAYS puts a strange look on their face....
