Tom thanks for your vote of confidence. But this year I'm just growing Pumpkins for the fun of it don't expect anything over 800-900 lbs . but if a 1000 lber happens i'll be happy. I think joe p. len s john g amy d glenn A rock r casey n alun j joe a all have a good shot at it There are quite a few others that com here like bret h bill v ken and john all have a good shot at it to I think The beginer of the year will be carrie p dot.

I'll make a few guess's. Joe P. , Mark P. , ROCK , John G. , Len S. , AMY , Bill V. , Brett H. , Glen A.( it better be green LOL ) , Casey N. , Brian C. , Ken or John ( I'll let you two duke it out lol) , Scott A. , KILR , Kenny B. , Tom B. , Alun J. , Andy W. , David G. , STAN. What I'm getting at is there are a lot on this site with great potential. If I'm able to hit 800 lbs it will be a great year for me. And I do agree that Carrie will shock us all & make the biggest jump, but I also have to give a vote to a occasonial visitor Bernie L. as a sleeper also.......Paul

I think many people will break the 1000 barrier next year mostly because of the over supply of good seeds. Look at the 845 Bobier, it grew a 1200 pounder this year and thanks to P+P it is possible that hundreds next year will growing the 845 never mind all the other proven seeds out there. I think this year will be great for everyone on this site.

Mark P, I hope I can grow an 800-900 lber just for the fun of it also. That would almost triple my previous best. Good luck to everyone. Spring is not that far away!

I hope Pumpkinboy will hit 1000 with his "punishment pumpkin", what was it the desoris, or Kiler, some seed that was deemed "unworthy". What a dumb ass. I hope I double my weight, that would put me in the 1200 club...... :)

While it seems everyone has that 1000+ pound barrier targeted as a goal, I'm thinking if everyone just shoots for a new personal best record, how can they go wrong? With the many different climates growers encounter, we're not all on the same playing field. In my opinion, a person such as Tim Canniff growing a 610 pounder in Florida is equivalent to a grower farther north popping that 1000+ pounder. Best of luck everyone!!..Joe P.

I would need extreme luck in my case to get a 1000 lbs....now 800 i hope i can make(maybe 900?)....who knows, will give it my all! Watch out for mark p and Tom B (hope there is no HAIL!!).....and then there are others who are going to get one no doubt(barring any major disaters) and we know who they all are.

best of luck to all in 2002!!

This will be my fist try at something big. If i can get a 3 or 400 pounder I would be trilled. Anything else bigger would be a dream come true

I would agree it's good to set achievable goals wheather it be personal best, state record,or just more than your neighbor...as long as the enjoyment from it out wieghs the sore backs....Bob W

Paul, Thanks for your kind thoughts, but I'm just about to become a first year grower and I'll be pleased to keep the plants healthy & well nourished this summer! It will take some time if ever to get a 1000 lber and regardless of the weight, the pumpkin trip will be a ton (2000lbs!) of fun!!

Last Year's achievment was 798lbs. This year's goal is 800lbs. As for 1000+ growers here, all I can say is watch out for that pistono guy.

my goal is not 1000+ pounds (that would be nice... lol) but my goal is rather to set a fruit this year... after that is accomplished then i will set a new goal...... as for who i predict...

Paul,is goin to grow a beautiful 1000+ pumpkin

Jeff352.. he is goin to grow a 1278 pounder setting the new world record

then all of those guy paul mentioned have a great chance

But i think Pappy will grow a heck of a pumpkin this year too.

Good Luck everyone ... & have fun

Justin

I would like to grow a new Australian record, about 635 pounds. A new personal best would be achievable, beating my first year of 64p and second of 205p. As for a 1000p maybe next year........
Also thanks to all the people on the BP site who have helped me out with seeds and advice

I expect to see a 1000+ pumpkin this year grown by Alan Nesbitt. He has done a lot of work to obtain the BIG one and had 2 last year that could have been over 1000, but weighed light. Good luck Alan.
