Hello all. I would like to introduce the new Northwest giant vegetable growers club, the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers. We have formed over this last winter with our goal to establish a well organized club which is grower and family friendly. Any questions are welcome to be posted as we are excited to get the word out on our new club.
Thank You, Brett

More info on the PGVG... We have two memberships, one is the family membership which gets you in on the seed giveaway, newsletter, Weighoff entry, and access to the membership roster. The other is a newsletter/ seed membership which gets you in on the seed giveaway with seeds from Daletas, Handy, Hester, LaRue, Sherwood families to name a few. Also to be given away at random are some super seeds.

Memberships are $35.00 for a family membership, and $20.00 for a Newsletter/ Seed membership. Not too bad as someone will walk away with a 723 Bobier for either $35.00 or $20.00. We will have quarterly newsletters and quarterly meetings with votes on issues going to the entire membership and no issue will be set aside. We are in this to have a club run by the entire membership so that everyone has a voice. Thanks for your time.

Brett,
Is the PNWGPG still running or does this replace that organization?

The PNWGPG is still a viable club. As the PGVG, we all just wanted something a little different and wanted those changes before the upcoming season to be set in stone, so here we are. There was getting to be too many hurt feelings with ambiguous rules that apply to one fruit or grower and not to the next, so we rewrote the book so to speak. We have gone with the rib-base color rule to determine squash or pumpkin, a family membership gets 2 entries no questions asked (it is up to the growers integrity on if a whole family helped) with no restrictions on prize money so that we have a better chance of seeing a families two biggest fruit at one weighoff instead of distributed over 5 weighoffs. Final difference is how things are voted on. We are having quarterly meetings so that no issue has to be put on the back burner. This way our club isn't stagnant and trying to cram all the votes and issues into one day. We have had great response and support.

Hi, Dave this is Jim. Yes we got your check, thank you! You are more than welcome to come down here to weigh your pumpkin, the family membership would cover the entry fee and also entitle you to a tee shirt and a dinner. Give me or Brett a ring if you're so inclined.

PS. Thank you to all who have joined our new club!

where would the weigh-offs be now? Would they still be at the Hoffmans farm? If not then where will the new weigh-off site be.
