I think it is important to get some youth interested in growing AG's..We all know we dont live forever,,so we should be glad to help out..I'd probably hate to know where AG's will be in 30-50 years down the road...WOW,,can you imagine a 3000 lb AG??

If they had the Internet back when I was 13, I would probably have typed things not realizing that it had offended anyone. I agree with Jeff to get youth interested in AG's. Although my wife thinks that this is my second wife...Tom

Thanks for the reply Tom b. I am sorry farmer tom and Pumpkinboy It must just be the way 13 and 12 year olds act that like growing pumpkins. There are a lot of young growers out there like Nic w, Casey, and others which are very good growers. I should know how kids act I have 4 myself. The only suggestion to the the yungin's Alot of growers take the hobby seriously and don't like it when you aren't as serious in such things as trades ect. I myself would do as much as possible to help young or old get started in the hobby of ours. Mark

I have no problem with kids on the site ""but"" if they are going to jump in & play , they have to accept the responsibilty that goes with it.........Paul

Both Tom,s are reallly amaising to me what they know about pumpkins at their age. I have learned alot from them. In a few years we all here will be going to them wanting their advice and glad they are here. They are young , and will make some mistakes.. We all make one now and then. Its nice that someone their age is taking a interest in this.

In a few years I'll stil be getting advice from the ones I do now. Kilr,Rock,Glen,Mark P.,Bob W.,LEN,Wayne,....If I left anyone out I'm sorry. My point is don't put them on a pedestal because they "may" of messed up. Once you come to a public forum you have to accept the responsibility that comes with it.
My children are 4 & 7 , And I don't use their age as a excuse now. If I say ( it's ok he's only 7) when do I stop it? What I'm saying is I teach my children resposibility "NOW". So when they reach their teens, mentally they are adults. I'm sure their will be those who disagree, & that's fine...It's a free country & thank God for that.............Paul

Huff I agree with you. Ive taught my kids the same way. just Im just saying there made beeen a mistake made, but do we come down hard on them and maybe run them off from here. Its time just go on , teach and let them know when they have srcewed up , but show a little compassion for them. As of now almost evryone here that ive met has taught me something and I am really glad i found this site. One thing that ive learned from gardening is patience. I believe to be good at it you need to be. Boy there is some great people here.

I guess you guys are right, the old adage "Children are to be seen and not heard" would be a hard lesson to learn in cyberspace. So if the people in question really are "Youngsters" then I can forgive a lot of trespasses. I however have my doubts about a few folks maskerading as "Kids", and subsequently preying on others generosity. I think you know who I am talking about. The young growers out there who are in this to learn about how to work with mother nature and create something as beautiful as an AG, I salute you. I wish my 3 teenagers cared half as much as you do about such an enlightning hobby. I cant even get them to recycle aluminum cans!

I will agree with you on that GADS. And if TOM and PUMPKINBOY keep showing their interest in pumpkins despite their mistakes along the way.
Than the World may see these 2 at the top of the game before long. I wish them goodluck !!
