Wayne we ordered it online. It is the model MFL-85, Lab Ultimate Digital Microscope.
You can hook it up to your computer and that makes it easier to see the little critters... If you get one order some extra slides....Here is one on amazone...

Nice work on the microbe identification, you were spot on. Many people "over identify" fungal hyphae, when it's really just a piece of organic matter.

Here's the microscope I would use if I wanted a cheap one that is going to work well.

Tad, thanks again for you continuing input. but...after hearing yer congrats, to Frank for his id's of microbes's w/ his lower priced scope, I think I am leaning towards the $120 model, instead of the $300 one. Such is life!!! Peace, Wayne

Not a problem....I'm just glad to hear you're getting a microscope! You may still want to consider the microbe identification DVD at the same site.

Good luck!

Oh, and keep in mind that you can look at compost or soil as well. :)

I'll have to post some tricks I've learned at some point, when everyone has their scopes.

Tad, you mean...take pieces of my compost or soil & put em under the scope? & see what's in there? If so, Kul beans, and how? Peace, Wayne
Tricks are way needed!!!! LOL

Yep, that's exactly what I mean. Or, take a small sample and extract it into solution and grow out the critters like a mini-compost tea.

If I get some free time, I'll post it up on gardeningwithmicrobes.com under the microscope section or something, but I've been super busy since Spring!
