From what I understand some plants like bacterial dominant soil and some like fungal and some like it somewhere inbetween. Has anyone ever found a scientific write that would suggest one or another?

Google "plant succession table" That should show you the plant succession from bacterial to fungally dominant soils. Does this apply to compost tea? Not necessarily....When putting out a compost tea you want a full complement and diversity of microbes because you're looking for nutrient cycling. This puts the plant in charge. It will put out exudates to select for the organisms (bacteria, fungi) it wants around its roots.

Espoma makes an organic starter fertilizer that has beneficial bacteria and micorhizae. Would this be good to add to the tea to get more bacteria and fungi? It is not a very strong fertilizer 4-4-3.
