Happy New Year everyone... I am planning on trying to grow a squash this year for the first time, a couple questions, when you see the first female and it is green is it assumed that the rest of females on that plant will be green also? And is there any signs early on that a plant might produce a green one? I am planning on starting 4 plants in the patch i have prepared for them but i only have room to finish 2 , any other advise would be appreciated ...thanks in advance

Wow, sorry I didn't see this either! I don't get on regularly, but do like to catch up on the green monsters! I am not a heavy hitter grower, I am a tight wad with no money for goodies, but I have grown a green one, small though they were, a couple times. I will be looking to u my game on the green this year. A goal of 500 lbs. for this year. What was the "course" you took?

Appologies from here. I also missed this post. I,m not sure how I missed post from the " valley " I have grow squash, hadone to Huglies in 13. To answer your question some will start green but turn an off yellow. Get as pure green as possible. I cover them right from the start. My opinion they heat up in the sun more than pumpkins because Jime of the dark green
