Hey everybody. Happy 2014. So I was on the tractor the other day and had a thought. We dug out half of our swamp last year, and now theirs huge piles of dirt. Would that be worth adding a little to the patch? I know theirs allot of stuff broke down and decomposed over the years in their so wondering if it would benifit at all.

I personally would let it sit..it was made with an anerobic process

I got some muck from a ranch stock pond and mixed it in my patch 2 years ago and not sure it did much but add sand to the soil.It also when left sitting to dry would turn light gray and get solid like a rock.I am with Linus on this one,let it set.

I would check the ph before using it. Poorly drained soil is often acidic.

Run a soil test to see what you have. It could contain large amounts of clay, or the nutrients could be unbalanced.
