FYI Pathogens love sugars. You will be feeding the good and the bad.

i use plain ol' LIQUID blackstrap molasses from 5-gallon buckets, obtained from an environmental remediation project. unsure of the name or any specifics, but, was free! one quart per 55-gallon barrel of drench water, even just this item once per week per plant (so, on each plant, let's say, (1 quart in 55 gals H2O) X once per plant per week) spinning the barrelful with a broom handle first and adding slowly - gooey but fun to smell and know i'm using it up! believing it to invigorate the worms and such and smells good; not a specific answer, but any info good info---eg

I use feed grade molasses every time I feed and I feed almost every time I water. Around 2 tablespoons in the easy flow along with other goodies. I prefer to feed small amounts constantly rather than a big amount weekly.

Must be why your pumpkins are so big and orange! I'm stepping on tippy-toes, here, so I'll just say that it was neat to see discussion in about '04 - '07 maybe about the dosages back then; Search Window = molasses per gallon ...turns out I'm using LESS than the popular amount of 1-2 oz. per gallon @ MY 32 oz. per 55 gallons H20. It's OK, though - I am @ the broken-handled, plastic-quart-measuring-cup-and-takes-5-minutes-to-get-the-stuff-rinsed-off-in-the-barrel stage in life, lol---good thing I'm severely fast on the drums, 'cause it's taken me 20 years to just now realize I can put a hook in the barrel for that measuring cup, lol---later---eric g

Is it unsulfured molasses? You may have some problems with high sulfur content molasses.
