I grew the 1610 and selfed it. She is a nice dark orange and would have made a fine Dill award contender until she developed a rib split that I am attempting to control. I am guessing the judges take off points for splits.

I selfed my 1610 Lieber. It weighed in at 627 lbs. last Saturday. It has a smooth, shiny orange color. I'll try and post pics of it in my dairy sometime this week.

Frank, curious here? Usually get's me in trouble, but here goes!!! What you cross it with, does not have anything to do w/ this year's fruit...color wize? Is this true? What you cross it with, comes out in the seeds that come outta the kin, that will be grown next year!? Peace, Wayne

Wayne,,, I believe you are right. So my seeds will give some nice Big and Orange pumpkin,s next season The 1090 northup I crossed it with is (904 Stelts x 1432 northup) 904 = 1370 rose x 1068 wallace 1432 northrup = 998 poukus x 1385 jutras

I grew a 1610. It was a smaller fruit. It wasn't orange at all. It was yellow with some green on it.

I grew a 1610 x self, bright orange. Fruit went down on a rib split late august, final weight was 1213 lbs. Photo in diary.
Scientific fact: pollination has no effect on fruit color.
This is not to be confused with corn...pollination does affect kernel color. Keep in mind that a kernel is a seed, not a pumpkin shell.
