Is it okay for a GPC event to pay someone to bring a pumpkin to their event that they would not have come to if not for this “bonus” payment? I am not talking about prize money; I am talking about under the table money. If it is okay, I am good with that, just want to understand.

Is it okay for the person that sponsors a GPC weigh off (Site representative) to also be the GPC Representative? I mean this sponsor (Site representative) does not grow pumpkins, he only pays the winners and enjoys the crowd that shows up. How can you be a GPC Representative and never grow pumpkins?

Why does the Ludwigsburg Early Weigh Off on 9 September still not have their results posted? Who is the GPC Representative from Ludwigsburg?

I am giving the GPC the chance to clear this up, tell this weigh off site what is right and wrong and ensure all of us honest growers that we all grow on a fair ground. A warning/default for this action is in my opinion fair. No action is a sign of corruption.

You know who I am, you have my email address. I have more details but would rather this be handled discreetly between the GPC and the named weigh off site.

So, it's been 2 weeks since I brought this to the GPCs attention.

Have there been any weigh off sites warned that this is not allowed?

Has the GPC decided it is allowed to pay someone under the table to come to their weigh off so that the site has a big fruit/vegetable?

Why are these very easy questions not being answered? Does the GPC think I am alone with these questions?

I had a second long gourd I could have taken to my weigh off site, would have been easy to say my wife watered it a few times and said it was hers, of course I didn't do that, would have been wrong, and the GPC rules specify it would be wrong. Team growers or not, one or the other.

So, I can pay a grower to come from Europe to North America to weigh their pumpkin and this is okay?

So, I can have 3 long gourds in the top from the same family, at the same weigh off without question?

Call me what you want, corruption is corruption (period).

Article II Fruits and Growers
1) The entry must be exhibited by the grower or team. In the case of an emergency where the grower or team cannot be present to exhibit the entry,

the site coordinator, club/grower representative, and site representative will make a determination regarding the validity of a grower or team’s absence.
A) “Grower” is defined as a person who has grown and cared for the entry from planting to harvest.
B) “Team” is two growers contributing equally to the care of a fruit/vegetable grown at the same address and exhibited together.
