Please take a look at my post and tell me if this crooked neck is something to be concerned about, or can this be adjusted enough to straighten the neck? 2nd year grower with only one plant.

Normal. When the pumpkin starts getting basketball sized youll want turn the fruit so that the stem is perpendicular to the outside curve you have in the vine. Lift it and move it a little each day in the hot part of the day.It will take 3 to 5 days to get it there. The pumpkin will rotate a little each time you move it sideways,Its good how you have lifted the vine to keep it and the fruit level.

That first one will still reposition well.Dont move it till about day 12.Make sure the vine isn't rooted at the pumpkin and two nodes before and two nodes after the fruit. Move it about 2pm -in the heat of the day.your moving the vine more than your moving the stem. You can feel how much resistence there is by gently lifting the pumpkin and then going sideways with it.Some move easy and some have more resistence. Its a feel thing.

If you look back at the pic of the lobes at pollination, one of the four lobes was "different". It looks to me like that lobe did not, is not, developing at the same pace as the others, hence the bend in the neck and developing odd shape on the vine end. Just an observation. The second later pumpkin was a perfect five lobe. I wish I would have gotten a pic, but didn't. I think I'm getting that feel for how much to move the pumpkin each time. Getting a little braver now that I have a good doing second.

The second one looks much better in my opinion.
