Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Tonight is the last night with temps in the 30's for my area, will get the last two spots planted tomorrow.

As for the leaf, I had a couple of mine do that. They are now off and running...have been for probably 3 weeks. No problems.
Keep the 1904, it has the same genetics as the 1937 Urena, which is already a proven seed. I think that seed is going to be big

Did you add nitrogen? They are sensitive at that stage but they’ll outgrow it.

Not a problem I always get some of that mostly on second and third true leaf(I start mine in grow bags in a hobby sized greenhouse). This year I added more shade and didn't get any except one little spot on one leaf(about 14 seedlings). So harsh light does contribute. Don't give up on your steil, looks like it will make a nice plant

Didn't add any nitrogen, but may have gotten a decent amount through soil/compost. I started them in store bought seed starting mix. Then transplanted to gallon pots with a 1/3 each of the following: Seed starting mix, soil from my garden, and 3 year old leaf compost.

Leaning towards double planting the Steil plants and letting them go a few weeks and see what's up. The 1904 is just smaller in every way, leaf size, stem size. Hopefully just a slow starter because it has pretty interesting genetics.

To update, I did plant the 1904.5, but it’s not being cooperative. Couple more odd shape leaves. Hopefully it straightens out being outside now. Pics in my diary.
